Type of Animal: cat
I’m retired now from both a 29-year Air Force career and over a decade of private sector jobs in Saudi Arabia. I’ve had a lot of cat companions ever since I was a young child. I cherish them all in my memory. I hope they will forgive me that my 17 y.o. girl Reggie, a rescue from the streets of Riyadh, holds a special place to me among all of them. She got me through things that were harder than the four years away from my family after 9/11, harder than the year I spent in Iraq. Her health had slowly declined for the past couple of years, as cats do, and I upheld my promise to her to not cling for so long that she suffered. I had time to research the options for keeping her close afterwards. I won’t disparage any other businesses directly, but some of the stories posted by unhappy families were too heartbreaking to bear. This is something that has to be done right the first time; there are no do-overs. I knew when I found Animal Kingdom Pet Services that it would all be fine. It was, and so much more. They are truly caring people who understand what you are going through and are devoted to helping. Of all the blessings I received in my time with Reggie, the last blessing, the one that I needed so much, came at the end. So, as she nows rests not far from me, I will be forever grateful to the owners of AKPS.
